Turkish media have lauded Victor Osimhen after the striker scored two goals in Galatasaray's 4-0 win away to Erzurumspor FK on Friday night. The Nigerian superstar has been heavily linked with a switch to Arsenal this summer.
According to FootMercato, the Gunners have held talks over a possible deal to sign the forward. However, Osimhen would need to lower his wages if he were to move to Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta looks to provide competition for Viktor Gyokeres.
He currently earns an eye-watering £17.1million per season with the Turkish giants. This is equivalent to just over £360,577 per week, which would make him the highest-earning player at Arsenal.
While the glowing reports from Turkey may help convince Arsenal to break the bank for the gifted goalscorer, the Gunners appear to have been warned off the striker by local media following his impressive performances. Osimhen has moved up to third place in the list of the highest-scoring foreign players for Galatasaray, after finding the net four times in his first two Super Lig matches this season.
