**At this point, everyone knows Bradley Barcola is Liverpool’s main target to reinforce their attack.**
The French international is a historical transfer target for the club as they wanted him at Lyon before he sealed his move to PSG.
The move didn’t happen then, but the Reds are trying to make it happen now as they remain locked in talks with the Ligue 1 giants.
There has been movement in recent weeks, with Barcola agreeing personal terms with Liverpool.
And now, Fabrizio Romano says he’s optimistic the transfer will happen, although nothing major is expected to change over the weekend.
“For Barcola, I still remain optimistic,” said Romano on his YouTube channel.
“I don’t expect a breakthrough over the weekend. I always told you it would be a slow deal and it is going to be the final days of the transfer window because it’s going into next week.
“Liverpool are absolutely on it. They have already sent verbal proposals. Conversations are ongoing to try to find the best structure of the deal for all parties involved. I expect acceleration on this deal in the next few days.”
Barcola is expected to be left out of PSG’s squad for their Ligue 1 clash against Rennes on Monday, which goes to show that he could leave the club.
Liverpool are also in talks to sign Ibrahim Mbaye, who, much like Barcola, will not feature against Rennes for the same reason.
