**Liverpool have been boosted by the news that striker Jayden Danns is back from injury, having made his return for the Under-21s on Friday evening.**
The 20-year-old is a player with so much potential, being hailed by former Leicester City winger [Marc Albrighton](https://www.empireofthekop.com/2025/01/11/albrighton-praise-brilliant-danns-liverpool-accrington/) last year, following his goal against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup:
_“Jayden Danns loves a goal and getting in those positions. That was brilliant from start to finish. He expected the rebound and he finished it well first time. You can see how much it means to him – a great moment for the young lad.”_
Unfortunately for Danns, injuries have affected him over the past year or so, hindering his progress and significantly limiting his minutes for Liverpool.
But on Friday night, the local attacker was back in action for the Reds’ Under-21s in their 1-1 draw with Everton Under-21s, with _Liverpool Echo_ journalist Theo Squires confirming the news on [_X_](https://x.com/TheoTheoSquires/status/2090883576703168873?s=20):
_“Jayden Danns is back from injury! The LFC striker is on to make his return off the bench in the mini-derby against Everton at Goodison Park. Currently 1-1. Will Wright opened the scoring.”_
**Can Jayden Danns be a genuine option for Liverpool?**
-------------------------------------------------------
It is fantastic to see Danns back for Liverpool, with the striker a naturally gifted player whose swagger adds an extra element to his game.
He has rarely looked out of place when thrown into first-team action for the Reds, scoring three goals in his 10 appearances to date, and he can continue to be a good squad option.
There is a horrible lack of depth behind Alexander Isak currently, due to Hugo Ekitike’s long-term injury absence, and Danns could ultimately be the man to fill in at times, and even make the substitutes’ bench in some Premier League games.
Eventually, he may decide that a permanent move away from Anfield is best for him, allowing him to start every week at senior level, but he is definitely worth having around this season.
Hopefully, this is the end of Dann’s injury woes, and if he can enjoy a sustained period of being fit, he can go on to have an excellent career, wherever that is.
