INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The [New Orleans Saints](https://www.nola.com/tncms/asset/editorial/fe9bd423-5fa9-42d8-8ed4-cb0bc28fe136/) are switching things up at quarterback.
Zach Wilson will start Saturday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams in place of Spencer Rattler after impressing in last week's exhibition, a source with knowledge of the situation said.
Wilson and Rattler have been competing for the Saints' backup quarterback role behind starter Tyler Shough. Shough and the normal starters will again sit Saturday after a week of joint practices that featured scrimmages against the Dallas Cowboys and the Rams.
For almost all of training camp, Rattler had been taking reps over Wilson. But on Thursday, Wilson rotated in with the second-team ahead of Rattler — a sign that coach Kellen Moore was contemplating a change.
Wilson, the former second overall pick who the Saints signed in the offseason, outplayed Rattler in New Orleans' preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wilson completed 68.8% (11 of 16) of his passes for 145 yards and a touchdown, while Rattler threw for only 42 yards on 8 of 11 passing and turned the ball over on a strip sack.
