The NBA schedule was released last week, and we now know when and how often each team will play each other.
Some data has been run after the schedule release, as one website says that, heading into the season, the Celtics have an advantage over all of the other 14 teams in the Eastern Conference.

A website called Tankathon has a page that looks at each NBA team's strength of schedule.
It's most accurate in the middle of the season when a good number of games have been played, and teams' records reflect their form, but heading into the season, it has the Celtics with the easiest strength of schedule among teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Celtics will still have to play their part and come with their best brand of basketball every night, but all things considered, it seems they weren't given the worst draw of teams to play this year.
For reference, the Nets, Bucks and Bulls are all at the top of the list, with the hardest strength of schedule entering the season.
Even though the Celtics have the easiest strength of schedule in the East, they are ranked just 24th in the entire league for hardest strength of schedule.

Six Western Conference teams have easier schedules, including the Lakers, Rockets, Nuggets, Warriors, Thunder and Spurs.
Again, this could all drastically change once the season is actually a few weeks in and we find out how new rosters perform, but for now, this is how the leaderboard stands for this scheduling stat.
