Bukayo Saka fitness plan revealed after Arsenal injury problems
Speaking after the Coventry victory, Saka revealed that he took only seven days away following the World Cup before beginning training again.
The Arsenal winger explained that his priority was returning to north London in strong physical condition and staying on top of his body after the problems he experienced last season.
Sky Sports’ interview with Saka after the Coventry victory covered the winger’s fitness alongside Arsenal’s revamped attack and the arrival of Ezri Konsa.
The extent of Saka’s work during his short summer break has also been detailed by The Sun, which reports that Mikel Arteta had initially expected to manage his minutes more carefully following his return.
Saka’s physical condition ultimately removed the need for such a cautious approach.
Arsenal already seeing reward from Saka preparation
Arsenal have certainly benefited during the opening weeks of the campaign.
Saka played his part in the Community Shield victory over Manchester City before finding the net against Coventry as Arteta’s side began their Premier League title defence with a convincing 3-0 win.

His current condition is particularly encouraging given the Achilles issue that followed him last season. ReadArsenal reported in June that Saka was no longer experiencing pain from the problem during England’s World Cup campaign.
Seven days of rest was hardly an extended summer for one of Arsenal’s most important players.
His decision to resume work so quickly appears to have given Arteta a fully prepared Saka from the beginning of the new campaign.
