Golden State has had a disappointing summer, to say the least, and it is one where the organization could have done much more. Instead, the Warriors have mostly brought back players who are not expected to be game-changers.

With Steph Curry entering the latter stages of his career, many expected Golden State to make bigger moves. Some believe the Warriors' lack of activity has been a major disappointment for their superstar.

“The Golden State Warriors' offseason is quickly going off the rails, with them having done little to improve thus far. The Warriors failing to improve their roster this summer should come as a massive disappointment to star Steph Curry,” Hoops Habit’s Cal Durrett wrote.

Others have not held back when discussing Golden State's offseason. ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins has even urged Curry to consider finding a way out of Golden State.

“Steph needs to be planning his exit strategy from the Golden State Warriors," said Perkins on 'NBA Today'. "Think about it, over the last four years, the Warriors have been in the play-in tournament. And this year, the way that the West is stacked up, they're gonna be a play-in tournament team again. You can't waste any more time hoping and banking that Mike Dunleavy is gonna get it right or is gonna make the moves that are needed to make sure that you can compete for a title, especially in a tough Western Conference.”

In a proposed trade from Heavy.com’s Adel Ahmad, Curry would be sent to the Toronto Raptors in a four-team deal that would bring three young players back to Golden State.

“Raptors receive: Stephen Curry and Garry Harris. Warriors receive: RJ Barrett, Collin Murray-Boyles, Drake Powell, a 2028 first round pick and second round picks in 2027 and 2028 (via TOR, BKN). Nets receive: Jakob Poeltl, Taurean Prince and Javonte Green. Pistons receive Terrence Mann,” Ahmad wrote.

For the Raptors, they would not be giving up too much in this deal while adding one of the greatest players in NBA history. For Golden State, the Warriors would acquire three young players who could help them build for the future without Curry.

However, if Curry does not sign an extension before the trade, there would still be a possibility of him returning to the Bay Area in free agency.

Collin Murray-Boyles, Drake Powell and RJ Barrett have combined contracts worth $151 million. That would give Golden State a promising trio to build around and potentially become the foundation of another successful era.

A trade like this would officially bring an end to the Curry era in Golden State, at least until the new league year begins.
