Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin earned a rare NFL interception during the preseason against Shedeur Sanders and used the moment to troll the son of Coach Prime while also repeatedly thanking a higher power for the moment to happen.
The Bills safety picked off the son of Coach Prime near the goal line at Huntington Bank Field, then ran toward the cameras with theatrics and copied Shedeur's watch celebration made famous in college as Browns fans showered the opposition with boos.
The turnover came with 4:43 left in the second quarter after Cleveland had marched 40 yards on an eight-play drive. Sanders connected with Carsen Ryan for 13 yards and Luke Floriea for 23, while penalties and short runs kept the Browns' drive alive. Meanwhile, NFL joint team practices continue to face criticism from top stars, with fights breaking out at several sessions.

Cleveland eventually reached the Bills' 19 before Sanders tried to hit Jermaine Terry II over the middle. Hamlin stepped in to jump the route and secured the interception off the tipped pass that hit the WR's hands first. He gained an extra eight yards as the game was tied 7-7.
Hamlin carried the ball nearly seven yards toward the cameras with teammates trailing him, made the Sign of the Cross, placed the football down, pressed his hands together in prayer, and then flashed Sanders' signature move.
Fans were split on Hamlin's mockery as some argued his celebration was overly excessive for the preseason. The Bills safety has completed five NFL seasons with just two official picks on his resume, both of which arrived in the first half of 2024.
One wrote, "All is fair in competition. That's what he's supposed to do. Good play." A second NFL fan added, "Bro stop it. You got cooked by a 3rd string tight end. He dropped the ball, and you caught it."
The majority of fans questioned whether Hamlin was an NFL-level talent, amid dark humor and conspiracy theories surrounding his 2023 on-field cardiac arrest. A vocal minority of users expressed genuine happiness for his recovery and continued NFL journey.
Hamlin has played in 53 NFL games over five seasons and has been a starter 27 times. The Bills DB's career resume includes 130 tackles, 2 INTs, 3 hits on opposing QBs, and a fumble recovery.

The move mocked the celebration Sanders has used since before his days at Colorado. The quarterback's wrist flex became a TikTok-approved trend during the 2023 season after wins over Colorado State and Arizona State. Browns opponents have enjoyed pulling out an Uno reverse card for the popular celebration ever since.
Kyle Hamilton, Jeffrey Simmons, and other NFL defenders mimicked the celebration after getting the better of Sanders, while Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson also copied it during a joint-practice exchange earlier this year.
Sanders still completed nine of 11 passes for 74 yards with one touchdown, the interception, and finished with an 87.1 passer rating. Cleveland's offense did little after his exit as the team continues to search for its Week 1 starter on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
