As Alexander Isak prepares to step foot back inside St James' Park, here's what his former Newcastle team-mates have said about him

Newcastle United stars have made their feelings clear on Alexander Isak, who is set for his first return to St James' Park following his controversial move to Liverpool.
The Swedish striker successfully lobbied to join the Reds following a saga that dominated last summer. The Magpies initially had no intention of selling Isak, who then went on strike in a bid to force a move.
He burnt any remaining bridges with Newcastle by accusing the club of breaking promises in an incendiary statement. The Magpies eventually relented, selling him for a British record fee of £130million.
When the Reds visited St James' one year ago, the move hadn't been completed, with Isak staying away from the ground. He then missed the reverse fixture at Anfield in January. However, Isak will finally go up against his former employers on Sunday for both sides' opening fixture of the season.
While he can expect a white-hot reception from home fans, it looks set to be cordial with his former colleagues, judging by comments made last season. Following the transfer, Dan Burn was quizzed about Isak's farewell message to the players.
The defender said: "He put a message in the [WhatsApp] chat just saying that he was leaving, and thanks for the memories, all that sort of stuff, and the lads replied.
"It was all positive. I think Alex is getting what he wants, and now we've just got to focus and do what we can with the players that we've got."

Burn acknowledged the frustration of Magpies supporters, adding: "It's only natural. Alex is probably one of the best three strikers in the world at the moment. As a Newcastle fan personally, obviously, you'd love him to want to stay.
"But I know that's football, and there are players who've come and gone from Newcastle before. Alex is my mate at the end of the day, so it was a tough situation, but I'm glad that we're getting a good return on a player that we've had, and he's getting the move that he wanted."
While there were reports that some unnamed players were furious over Isak's conduct, others publicly wished him well. Sven Botman posted on social media: "What started off as teammates growed [sic] in one of my rare best friendships. No more words needed brother, all the best in your next chapter."

Meanwhile, Anthony Gordon, now of Barcelona, shared a similar message of respect, saying: "Regardless of the situation and what's gone on, it's been a pleasure to play with you.
"One of the best chemistries I've had on the pitch and more importantly a great person and teammate. I wish you nothing but the best brother."
However, for those players who remain from Isak's spell on Tyneside, any friendliness will be set aside at 4.30pm as the Magpies look to get their new era off to a dream start.
