Liverpool will get their Premier League season underway against Newcastle United at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon. The game will mark the beginning of the Andoni Iraola era.
Many fans may have thought the Reds would be boasting an array of new signings in their line-up against the Magpies. As it stands, Victor Munoz, loanee Ronald Araujo and Jeremy Jaquet are the only new players who are set to feature.
Reds learn Minteh price
An update on Liverpool's chase of Brighton star Minteh has surfaced, with the Seagulls said to want over £70million for the winger.
Liverpool saw an opening offer of £50m turned down, and despite adding £10m to that fee, a second bid was then rejected.
The Athletic's David Ornstein, speaking to TNT Sports on Saturday, said the Reds' move for the player "definitely stands a chance." However, he claimed Liverpool have other targets if the numbers surrounding the Gambian national are "not right".

He added that Brighton are holding out for £70m "in excess of with add-ons". It was then clarified that it remains uncertain whether the Reds are willing to go that far to secure a deal. However, Liverpool could take a risk on the player, according to Ornstein, with Minteh one of the most coveted wingers in the Premier League.
Barcola deal 'likely to happen'
Liverpool’s ongoing pursuit of Bradley Barcola is likely to succeed, according to BBC Sport. The Paris Saint-Germain winger has been a key target for the Reds throughout the summer window.
The outlet claims that while the transfer is "dragging on", it is "very likely" that an agreement between PSG and Liverpool is reached before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Feran Torres and Mika Godts have joined French forward Maghnes Akliouche as offensive reinforcements at PSG this summer, making Barcola's exit seem inevitable.

Appearing on the After Foot podcast, via the Liverpool ECHO, French journalist Fabrice Hawkins also reported that Liverpool could land Barcola if particular requirements are fulfilled.

He insists there is no desire at PSG to retain the young talent, but the stumbling block remains his price tag with PSG said to want £145m for the winger.
It's been reported that the Reds have submitted verbal proposals, though no formal written bids have been made as yet. It was also suggested that the next formal written proposal will be the one that seals the transfer, with anything in the region of £111m to £128m to prove sufficient.
