It's been a strange old summer for Manchester City. If some don't believe that times have changed in this new post-Pep Guardiola era then the business taking place at the Etihad should convert all of those non-believers.
The Manchester club have been ruthless. Savinho, Omar Marmoush, James Trafford, Nico Gonzalez,Tijjani Reijnders and Rodri could all form the list of departures at the club by the time that deadline day passes.

Rodri is a particular blow and has left many questioning where Enzo Maresca will take this side this season, but replacements have arrived. City broke the bank for Elliot Anderson earlier this summer and could still sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea. That would be their Rodri problem solved.
Then it's all about finding replacements elsewhere. And with Savinho heading to Tottenham Hotspur, Allan Elias is the next name on the agenda at the Etihad.

The 22-year-old Brazilian looks destined to arrive as a player full of potential. At Palmeiras, he's been involved in 11 goals in 41 games in all competitions this season. Whilst that output is far from outstanding, there is no doubt that he has the quality to replace Savinho.
That's ultimately what City are looking for, too. Maresca already has his starting wingers in Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo. Beyond that duo, it's all about quality from the bench, which a player like Allan would provide in abundance.
Man City on the verge of Allan agreement

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Man City are now on the verge of an agreement to sign Allan from Palmeiras. The winger has a release clause worth €100m (£85m), but the Citizens are working on a deal worth just €40m (£34m) in an unexpected bargain price.
It's excellent business from City, who are set to sell Savinho for as much as £85m before landing his replacement for less than half that amount. There's also every chance that Allan could become an instant upgrade on Savinho this season.

Dubbed "excellent" by South American football expert Nathan Joyes last year, Allan will need time to settle before realising his potential in England.
Like many young South Americans in the past, however, he will be expected to steal the show once he reaches the peak of his powers. A deal worth £34m could look like a bargain very quickly when that happens.
