Everton kicked off their new season with a full house on paper, but pockets of empty seats were visible again at Hill Dickinson Stadium during Saturday’s win over Crystal Palace.
One supporter, posting on X, shared a photo of unfilled blocks in the lower tier with the caption: “Not another season of this. Awful.”

It’s a familiar complaint. Two blocks toward the back of the East Stand have been a recurring sight since the ground opened last season — sold as part of Everton’s Club View premium package through Seat Unique, the club’s official hospitality partner, at prices reported to be around £200 a ticket.
The issue isn’t demand; Saturday’s fixture, like most since the move from Goodison Park, was sold out well in advance. It’s that a portion of those premium tickets simply go unused, and with resale for no-shows restricted, there’s no easy way for the seats to reach fans who’d actually turn up.
Everton haven’t commented on Saturday’s game specifically, but the pattern has drawn criticism before, including visible gaps during last season’s home defeat to Tottenham. Whether it becomes a bigger story again this season may depend on how often it happens once the bigger fixtures start arriving.
