Chelsea striker Emmanuel Emegha has emerged as a transfer target for Fiorentina just weeks after formally joining Xabi Alonso’s squad.
Italian transfer reporter Nicolò Schira says Fiorentina have made an enquiry for the 23-year-old as they assess their attacking options before the transfer deadline.
The development comes after Chelsea had already shown a willingness to consider suitable proposals for Emegha earlier in the summer.

Fiorentina enquire about Emmanuel Emegha
Fiorentina are exploring several striker options and Emegha has now been added to their list.
Viola News reports that Fiorentina have sounded out the possibility of signing Emegha, with the Serie A club assessing potential additions as uncertainty continues around Moise Kean’s future.
At this stage, there is no reported bid or agreement.
That distinction is important because Chelsea only formally added Emegha to Alonso’s squad this summer after agreeing his transfer from Strasbourg last September.
Chelsea originally confirmed the agreement to sign Emegha in September 2025 after the Dutch forward impressed in Ligue 1.
His first Chelsea pre-season was disrupted by a hamstring injury, however.
ReadChelsea reported Emegha’s injury setback during pre-season before he eventually returned to training later in August.
Chelsea already open to Emegha proposals
Fiorentina’s interest does not arrive completely out of nowhere.
ReadChelsea reported in July that Chelsea were prepared to listen to offers for both Emegha and Liam Delap as Alonso assessed a crowded group of centre-forwards.
João Pedro has since strengthened his position at the front of Chelsea’s attack, while Danny Welbeck provides another senior option.
Emegha has been handed the No.22 shirt for the new season, confirming that he remains part of the first-team squad for now.
A Fiorentina move would therefore represent another major decision for Chelsea rather than an inevitable exit.
The current situation is simply that interest exists.
Whether Fiorentina turn that enquiry into a concrete proposal should determine what happens next.
