Arsenal and Atletico Madrid agreed a deal for Julian Alvarez last Thursday, according to reports, but the Argentina international has turned down the move. Members of Arsenal’s staff made contact with the striker, who informed them he is waiting for Barcelona and will continue to do so until deadline day.
Gerard Romero reported: “Last Thursday afternoon, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid agreed a deal for Julian Alvarez. Members of Arsenal’s staff got in touch with Alvarez, and he turned them down at that moment. He told them he’s waiting for Barça in the final days of the window and will do so until deadline day.”

However as now.arsenal understands it, this report from Spain is to favour Barcelona. Arsenal are still actively pursuing Julian Alvarez ahead of the final week of the window because if a move to Barcelona fails, he would be keen on moving to North London.
