LSU To Add NFL Tight End For The 2026 Season
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, if Dae’Quan Wright clears waivers from the Cleveland Browns, he will join LSU.
During his time at Ole Miss, Wright earned first-team All-SEC honors as a second-team selection under coach Lane Kiffin (who now coaches at LSU). Prior to signing with the Browns, Wright was with the New Orleans Saints. Although he played in the Browns’ preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills on Aug. 22, he had already secured a temporary restraining order from Louisiana state court, which gave him permission to enter the transfer portal for a fifth year.

“I wondered why Lane Kiffin reached out a week ago,” Browns coach Todd Monken said Aug. 22. “Now I know. (Expletive) I didn’t know, now I know. I didn’t call him back, I guess now I should’ve.”
Wright caught 39 passes for 635 yards with five touchdowns for the Rebels last season, including a touchdown against Miami in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
