NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Saints traded veteran linebacker Deion Jones to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for running back Zamir White, according to ESPN.
The trade addresses depth concerns in the Saints’ running back room three weeks before the start of the regular season.
The Saints acquired Jones, who’s a New Orleans native and went to LSU, just over two weeks ago.
Prior to joining the Saints, Jones spent his last two seasons with the Tampa Bay, where he was on and off the practice squad and was used as a reserve linebacker and special teams player.
He was originally drafted by Atlanta in the second-round of the 2016 draft and also spent time with Carolina and Cleveland.
