Luka Doncic has hosted a team trip in Slovenia, where he is not only vacationing with the new additions but also building team chemistry as the roster’s leader.
The Lakers released footage of scrimmages from the trip, where Doncic looked visibly different from how he did at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Luka Doncic has grown out his hair and looks much thinner than he did near the end of 2025-26. NBA fans, especially the Lakers’ supporters, flooded social media with reactions to the Slovenian superstar’s new look.

This footage wasn’t just a look at Doncic’s offseason transformation; it was also a glimpse at what to expect from the new-look Lakers. From the lob from Doncic to Walker Kessler in the first video to the end, where he had a lob for Ziaire Williams, the Lakers fans had several things to be fired up about.
Moreover, NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki’s shot doctor, Holger Geschwindner, was also seen closely observing the team practice in Slovenia. But he was there for more than just helping with shooting mechanics.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Geschwindner also coordinates and “works closely with Luka on his Total Hoops Approach youth basketball initiatives, as does The Search Institute, funded by Doncic.”
This trip has helped not only the team’s on-court chemistry but also its off-court dynamics. Doncic took the team to visit his childhood court, which he recently got renovated in Slovenia. So the superstar isn’t just focused on winning but also on giving back to the community that made him who he is.
