The English giants have stepped up their pursuit of Palmeiras starlet Allan as Maresca looks to reshape his forward line following several high-profile exits. The Brazilian side previously knocked back an opening proposal from the Etihad hierarchy worth €25m plus €5m in add-ons, per ESPN Brazil. The 22-year-old winger, who has registered nine goals and 12 assists in 96 appearances for the club, is viewed as a prime candidate to replace Tottenham-bound Savinho.

Ferreira demands massive fee
Speaking to reporters after Palmeiras' victory over Vasco in the Brasileirao, Ferreira made it clear that any suitors will have to pay a premium to secure the versatile attacker.
Praising Allan's defensive discipline alongside his attacking threat, Ferreira insisted: "These teams want players like Allan because he does what 90% of the wingers here cannot do: attack and defend down the flank for 90 minutes. If they want this type of player, they will have to pay 100 million euros.
"European clubs don't just buy players who attack. So when one comes along who can track back the entire time, play as a right-back - as was the case against Miami - slot into a back three out wide and drift inside for rotations, as happened today with Giay, everyone wants that kind of player. But you have to educate them, develop them, and, if necessary, lose a few games along the way."
Manager admits departure possibility
While maintaining his stance on the player's true market value, the Portuguese coach conceded that keeping hold of the sought-after winger remains difficult in the face of European interest. Addressing the speculation surrounding Allan's future, Ferreira added: "I didn't want to talk too much about Allan because I don't know what's going to happen. If he leaves, we lose quality, but not competitiveness.
"I don't know if we'll go into the market. But 40 million for a player... so congratulations to the coaching staff, to our president, to our youth academy, and to the player. Now, whether he is sold or not, I don't know. For now, he is our player. And he is not the first, nor the fourth or the fifth that we sell for figures like that and with that quality."
