**Jack Grealish’s Man City return continued against Bournemouth on Sunday, but his latest appearance has done little to quiet speculation over another move to [Everton](https://ReadEverton.com).**
The 30-year-old came off the bench as City began their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
Grealish is back with his parent club after spending last season on loan at Everton, but his long-term future remains uncertain with the transfer window entering its final days.
Everton News highlighted several reactions from City supporters following Sunday’s game, with some questioning Grealish’s impact and others suggesting he should return to Everton.
Social-media reaction should, of course, not be confused with City’s own position on the player, but it comes at an interesting point in a transfer story, which has refused to disappear.
Everton chief executive Angus Kinnear confirmed last week that the club would be interested in bringing Grealish back following his spell at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Kinnear also revealed that contact had been maintained, while Grealish’s future under new City manager Enzo Maresca remains unresolved.
He has nevertheless been brought back into the City fold. After appearing in the Community Shield against Arsenal, Grealish was again given minutes against Bournemouth on Sunday.
Whether that represents the start of a genuine second chance in Manchester or simply gives Maresca another option while the window remains open is less clear.
Everton’s interest, however, has not gone away. Grealish made a strong impression during his time on Merseyside before injury curtailed his season, and Kinnear’s comments have left the possibility of a return firmly on the table.
There is also the small matter of Grealish’s Instagram bio still saying ‘Everton player.’
With little more than a week of the window remaining, there may yet be another chapter in the Grealish-Everton story.
