Fabinho will enjoy a surprise reunion with Mo Salah after Turkish side Trabzonspor made their move for the free agent.
Fabinho left Liverpool for Al-Ittihad in 2023, and that is where he remained until his contract at the Saudi club expired this summer after 111 appearances.
He won one Saudi Pro League title following his Anfield exit, and at 32 has now agreed to join Trabzonspor and reunite with Salah.
The Turkish side have already announced his imminent arrival, showing the Brazilian on a private plane in a club shirt as he travels to complete his medical.

“A familiar face is waiting for me in Trabzon, and I am on my way,” Fabinho said in the club’s social media post, which was a replica of their announcement for Liverpool’s former No. 11.
That familiar face is, of course, Salah, who finalised his own shock move to Trabzonspor on a two-year deal worth €17 million per season after leaving Liverpool.
Fabinho, meanwhile, will reportedly earn €7 million per year (£5.9m), plus his signing bonus.

The former Liverpool duo played 198 times together under Jurgen Klopp, and incredibly lost only 38 of those games.
Despite his struggles at the end of his Liverpool career, Fabinho has played more than 3,000 minutes in both of his last two seasons after respective 44 and 37-game campaigns.

While the club formalised Fabinho‘s transfer, Salah scored his first goals for his new club in a 2-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir.
He made his debut off the bench last week, but twice found the net on Sunday after opening the scoring in the eighth minute, and later restoring their lead early in the second half.
Salah has played three times for his new club, racking up 212 minutes and two goals. A place in the Europa League, however, is under threat after a 1-0 loss in the first leg of the qualifying tie.
