Manchester United are reportedly still hopeful of signing Myles Lewis-Skelly, with Arsenal ready to sanction the versatile Englishman's exit on one condition. The Red Devils have looked to strengthen both in midfield and at left-back, two roles that the 19-year-old is accomplished in, while also being on the verge of signing Carlos Baleba from Brighton for £70million.
The door appeared to be left open when Arsenal brought in Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle, potentially harming Lewis-Skelly's pursuit of a starting spot under Mikel Arteta. But he was handed a boost when given the starting role alongside Declan Rice for Friday's 3-0 win over Coventry City, though his Brazilian rival had picked up an injury that ruled him out of the season-opener.

Lewis-Skelly also started and grabbed an assist in the Community Shield triumph over Manchester City.
But according to The Sun, Arsenal are prepared to sell the teenager if a club meets their valuation of Lewis-Skelly, which is north of £50m.
It had been thought that Lewis-Skelly was not for sale at the Emirates, but recent developments suggest otherwise, with just over a week left of the summer transfer window.

United want a new left-back, having previously been told that Lewis Hall is not for sale at Newcastle, but consider Arsenal's asking price too expensive.
Luke Shaw is the current starter for United, but he is in his 13th year at the club and has just one more season left on his contract.
Patrick Dorgu, who started the defeat to Hull in an advanced role, and youngster Harry Amass, are also options in that role.

Lewis-Skelly has not directly addressed speculation surrounding his future this summer, but did state that he wants a legacy in north London, when signing a new contract last year.
“I want a legacy,” he said at the time. “I want to win everything there is to win in the game. I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that's always learning and stays grounded, which is so important."
When asked if United need to strengthen at left-back following the 2-0 defeat at Hull, Michael Carrick admitted: "I just think we're looking to strengthen the squad. We're certainly working towards that, making the most of the situation that we have and trying to improve things and trying to move forward.
"I said the same thing to you last time. Certainly trying to make the most of the opportunities to finish the window stronger than we went into it. And I think we're a good way to doing that, so far."
