According to the latest from PremierInjuries, the team could be without their two veteran additions made over the summer. Jordan Henderson has been dealing with a broken arm sustained on England duty and won’t feature for a few weeks. Danny Welbeck who joined from Brighton & Hove Albion needs to train to get up to match fitness a bit.
Wesley Fofana is suspended for this one as well, his red card suffered late in the last campaign has carried over to here, a blow for him as he’s featured regularly for Alonso in pre-season.

New coach Alvaro Arbeloa has two issues to contend with. Seasoned defender Joachim Andersen is suspended due to a red card of his own while Tom Cairney had a minor surgery and will miss a few months of action. The rest of his squad is deemed fit to play.
