NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Titans won the game 19-16, but, if the Tennessee coaches were looking for a better performance from Cam Ward and the first-team offense than they got in the first preseason game, this was not the night to find it.
Ward led one scoring drive that went 53 yards and resulted in a 55-yard field goal by Joey Slye. Slye booted four more field goals through the uprights, giving him eight in two preseason games. Reserve running back D’Ernest Johnson scored the Titans’ only touchdown.
The Tennessee first-team offense didn’t show much effectiveness against the Seattle Seahawks’ backup defense.
Ward completed eight of 12 passes for 69 yards before coming out for the night after one quarter of play.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks 2nd-team offense ran roughshod over the Titans’ starting defense.
Drew Lock and company scored on all three possessions in the first quarter, including a 69-yard touchdown run by Jacardia Wright right through the heart of the Titans defense.
Earlier in the week, head coach Robert Saleh said he was looking for execution from his team in this game. That did not happen from the starters.
Now, the Titans look ahead to their final preseason game, next Saturday at 5 p.m. at home against the Chicago Bears.
