Arsenal Could Sign 3 New Players This Week

**Arsenal are hoping to wrap up deals for three new signings in the space of a week, according to reports.**

[_The Standard_](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-fc-transfer-news-tyjon-ogunneye-scanlon-b1294432.html) claim that two players underwent medicals last week – Blackburn Rovers striker Igor Tyjon and Manchester United right-back Habeeb Ogunneye.

Tyjon has been pursued for well over a year, but the Gunners finally reached an agreement on a transfer fee last week.

The Premier League champions are set to pay £1m up front, with another £2m due in performance-related add-ons.

Ogunneye, meanwhile, will be brought in on a free transfer, but United will be due 40% of any transfer fee if he is sold in the future. Both deals are expected to be officially confirmed within the next 48 hours or so.

Arsenal are hoping to secure a third addition

---------------------------------------------

The Gunners remain locked in negotiations with Man Utd about a deal for winger James Scanlon. Initially, it was hoped that an agreement on the transfer fee [**would be reached by last weekend**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-james-scanlon/).

However, it is believed that the Gibraltar international is keen on moving with Ogunneye to North London, and a breakthrough in talks is said to be close.

It could well be the case that Scanlon’s move will also be officially announced before the end of the week, although it must be pointed out that the Tyjon and Ogunneye deals are much more advanced.

When could we see them make their debuts?

-----------------------------------------

From the sound of things, the trio will initially be part of David Horseman’s Under-21 setup, and you would not expect them to get any minutes for the first team, at least for now.

Of course, manager Mikel Arteta does like to blood young players in the early rounds of the domestic cups, so it would not be a surprise if one or more of them make the substitutes’ bench for the third round of the Carabao Cup next month.
