Christos Tzolis was made guest of honour for Club Brugge’s derby against Cercle Brugge on Sunday. The Arsenal winger took the honorary kick-off and received a warm reception from the home support just weeks after completing his move to north London.
Tzolis emerged from the tunnel to chants of his name and turned to applaud the fans. He took the ceremonial kick-off with a smile before greeting former teammates as he left the field.

The 24-year-old has made a strong start to life at Arsenal, providing two assists in the Community Shield win over Manchester City and playing a key role in the 3-0 Premier League victory against Coventry City. A deflection denied him an official assist for Bukayo Saka’s goal, though he noted it still counted in Fantasy Premier League.
With Arsenal not in action until the trip to Aston Villa on 31 August, Tzolis was free to make the short journey back to Belgium. The Gunners will want him back in training this week as they prepare for the next fixture.
