Liverpool’s pursuit of new attacking reinforcements has dominated the closing stages of the summer window, with Bradley Barcola and Yankuba Minteh at the centre of it.
The Reds are determined to add fresh legs to their forward line before Deadline Day.

Andoni Iraola has made no secret of his priorities since taking charge at Anfield.
The Reds have signed three players so far this summer, with Ronald Araujo joining on loan following the arrivals of Jeremy Jacquet and Víctor Munoz.
“We will definitely sign some players,” Iraola told Sky Sports. “Some deals you have to wait until the end. But the end is the important picture, the one we will have on September 1, because it is true that we are still quite thin.”
He added that wide areas remain his clearest concern, saying Liverpool “don’t have enough players specifically to play in those positions.”
That need has shaped a summer defined by one name above all others.
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are now set to do everything they can to sign Barcola before Deadline Day, adding that the club are aware of the player’s personal terms and do not expect issues on that front if a transfer agreement with PSG can be reached.
Minteh, meanwhile, has emerged as the second priority.
Brighton have knocked back two Liverpool offers for the 22-year-old, the second worth around £60m, with the Seagulls holding out for closer to £70m. A third bid is expected this week.
The Gambia international joined Brighton from Newcastle in 2024 for £30m and has since become one of the Premier League’s most productive young wide players.
Now comes the wider picture behind the two headline pursuits.
Plettenberg’s report indicates Liverpool are not stopping at one winger. The club are working on signing two or three more players before the window shuts, with Barcola and Minteh sitting at the top of that list.
Plettenberg posted on X: “Liverpool are planning to sign 2-3 more players before Deadline Day. Bradley Barcola and Yankuba Minteh remain the top priorities for Liverpool at this stage. #LFC
Other names remain in the background. Ibrahim Mbaye, Barcola’s PSG teammate, is also under consideration, though Liverpool believe a deal for him would come at a reduced price of around £30m.
