NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Saints are signing former Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson, according to an ESPN report.
NFL insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport reported the move Monday (Aug. 24).
Carlson, 31, played collegiately at Auburn from 2013-17 before being drafted in the fifth round of the 2018 draft by Minnesota.
He was cut by the Vikings after missing three field-goal attempts in a 2018 game, and landed with the Raiders. Carlson became a two-time All-Pro with the Raiders and tied for the NFL scoring lead in 2020-21.
The Saints had been trying to decide between kicker candidates Charlie Smyth and Tanner Brown so far this preseason.
