Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a new bid for Cody Gakpo, pushed by Roberto De Zerbi to get him, but they now face competition from Manchester City.
Spurs are continuing to prioritise an overhaul of their attacking department, with the club prepared to invest heavily before the transfer window shuts.
The Lilywhites have reached an £85m agreement with Manchester City for Savinho and are now closing in on Omar Marmoush, who is set to undergo a medical soon.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Gakpo dates back to June, with the Lilywhites now looking to lure the Liverpool forward away from Anfield as they seek another high-profile signing.
The N17 outfit made an offer of around £60m for the Dutchman, but it was swiftly rejected by Liverpool.
Liverpool insist they are under no pressure to sell and value Gakpo at much more than the £60m offered by Tottenham.
Now, according to Dutch outlet Soccernews, Spurs are preparing a fresh proposal for the 27-year-old to lure him away from Anfield, with De Zerbi having urged them to try again for Gakpo.
It has been suggested that the N17 side could though face competition from Manchester City, who have shown interest in the Dutchman.

With Savinho and Marmoush set to leave the Etihad outfit, the Cityzens will now be looking to reinvest the proceeds to strengthen their attack.
Manchester City have also received significant funds from the high-profile departure of Rodri, which could give them an advantage over the Lilywhites should the pursuit develop into a bidding war.
Manchester City though see Gakpo more as a squad depth option, while for De Zerbi he would be a key man in a new look attack.
De Zerbi has been a strong supporter of signing Gakpo internally at Tottenham.
Tottenham are preparing a fresh bid and will hope that it can convince Liverpool to do business, though the Reds would be unlikely to say yes without having Bradley Barcola in through the door.
Meanwhile, Spurs have enquired about Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Illya Zabarnyi, but a deal for the defender appears unlikely as the French giants do not want to sell.
