West Ham have not finalised a move for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson as they are looking at potential alternatives, according to insider ExWHUEmployee.
Writing on The West Ham Way Patreon (quotes via their website), Ex said that the Hammers are still weighing things up:
“In regards to wingers, Reiss Nelson’s deal pretty much done, I was told, and just waiting for West Ham to push the button on. The club are considering other options, however and Edvin Austbo of Viking as potential options.”
Some supporters on X don’t believe Nelson should be a target anyway, but others think the club should rubber-stamp the deal without delay:
How does this club never learn?

Nelson would be a cheap addition
The 26-year-old has less than a year left on his contract, and West Ham would only need to pay around £3m to secure his signature.
However, as some fans have pointed out, Nelson has had his fair share of injury problems in recent years, and the club may be hesitant about recruiting a player on a sizeable wage who may not always be available.

Who is West Ham’s other target?
Edvin Austbo isn’t a player that many will be aware of. The 21-year-old has played all of his club football in his native Norway, where he has scored 17 goals and contributed 13 assists in 77 appearances for Viking.
He has not even been capped by his country at senior level, having been part of their Under-21 setup since his debut in March last year. Nonetheless, he’s a promising young player who may have a higher ceiling than Nelson.
