Newcastle have reached an agreement with Manchester City for the signing of Nico Gonzalez, with Fabrizio Romano providing all the details.
The Magpies have been in the market for new midfield additions in the transfer window, with Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes both leaving the club.
Newcastle have secured the signatures of Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba in the midfield position, but both players are under the age of 21.
The North East Club will be looking to add a little more experience in the middle of the park, especially after losing two leaders in Tonali and Guimaraes.
According to Romano, Newcastle have now reached a verbal agreement with Man City for the signing of Gonzalez, with the midfielder giving the green light to join the Magpies.
Newcastle will pay £47 million up front, with £3 million in add-ons, with the deal now close to being finalised.
