Tarik Biberovic made an unusual move by visiting a Fenerbahce Istanbul training session ahead of his NBA debut.
Biberovic visited his former team to say goodbye to his teammates, the coaching staff and administration before continuing his career with the Dallas Mavericks.
After moving to a new team players rarely come back for visits to their former clubs, especially in the same summer. But the Turkish forward shares a special connection to Fenerbahce, having played there for 8 seasons.
Biberovic shows his love to Fenerbahce
During his visit, Biberovic praised Fenerbahce fans and promised to represent them the best he can in the NBA.
"No matter what I say, it won't be enough. I love Fenerbahce very much. Fenerbahce will always be family to me; this is my home. I am grateful beyond words for everything. I will never forget what this organization has done for me. I will carry it in my heart and will always support Fenerbahce," he said.
"God willing, I will represent our Fenerbahce in the NBA in the best possible way. I love the Fenerbahce fans very much, and I will consider them my family for the rest of my life. I will always try to lift Fenerbahce higher along with myself. And if there is ever a place for us to return to, of course, it will be our home."
Tarik Biberovic will make his NBA debut with the Mavericks after signing a two-year, $6 million contract that includes a team option for the second season.
