Lewis Koumas reckons his transfer plans might have shifted following his Premier League bow for Liverpool at the weekend.
Koumas came off the bench in the 78th minute of the encounter at Newcastle and contributed to Liverpool's fightback to secure a point in a 2-2 draw on Sunday. It marked the 20-year-old's first outing for Liverpool since netting on his debut in the FA Cup against Southampton in February 2024, having been an unused substitute in the League Cup final triumph over Chelsea just days prior.
The Wales international went on to enjoy loan stints at Stoke, Birmingham City and Hull in the Championship, during which he racked up close to 100 appearances.

Koumas caught the eye when deployed on the right flank by new head coach Andoni Iraola throughout preseason, with Liverpool anticipated to reach a verdict closer to next Tuesday's transfer deadline regarding whether to approve another loan or retain the youngster within the first-team squad.
When questioned whether earning his Premier League debut has altered his own perspective on his immediate future, the forward responded: "Definitely. I think I can help impact games as well in this league.
"It's nice to get my debut, but ultimately I want to go on and score goals and try to impact where we can finish in the league. We'll see what happens.

"I got the call the come on, and it was just to add energy, add runs in behind, and try to make something happen – and then happily we did that in the end."
Reflecting on his top-flight debut, Koumas added: "This is the peak. It's quite emotional, to be honest.
"Now that it's finally happened, it just takes me back to the very first moments where it was my mum sacrificing absolutely everything to get me to any session I could be at.
"I remember being at Crewe, being at Tranmere, and my mum was just doing everything.
"So ultimately it's her to thank for being able to put myself out there, and now we've reached this stage. It's just a happy family moment, and I'm just really happy she could see it."

Fellow substitute Victor Munoz won the crucial penalty, which was dispatched in the 99th minute by Dominik Szoboszlai to secure Liverpool a 2-2 draw.
"It's what the big players are there for: we couldn't win the game, so we find a way to get a point out of it, and the characters have stepped up," said Koumas to LFC TV.
"Dom's took the pen, and there's absolutely no saving it, it's a clinical moment, and it's a good point on the road, and we'll move on to next week. A pressure moment under the lights, you wouldn't want anyone else on it."
