On Monday, it was announced that San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested in Ohio over the weekend for engaging in prostitution. York has already pleaded no contest to the charges in municipal court and will serve two days in jail following the incident.

Now, fans are wondering what disgruntled 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who has made a habit of voicing his discontent with the team on social media, is thinking in the wake of the arrest.

“That next Aiyuk post about to be legendary,” wrote one fan alongside a laughing emoji on X, formerly Twitter.

“Maybe the 49ers should just release Brandon Aiyuk on the off chance that it breaks this curse,” chimed in another.

Some fans thought that Aiyuk had posted a meme of York's mugshot on his Instagram story, but that turned out to be a fake image.

Still, it's not hard to imagine the wide receiver getting a chuckle out of the incident, which comes after an offseason full of trade or release demands from Aiyuk, with the 49ers unwilling to budge so far.

Aiyuk hasn't appeared in a game in two years, having spent all of last season rehabbing a brutal leg injury he suffered during the 2024 campaign. Aiyuk has publicly pined for the 49ers to either trade or release him this summer, with his preferred destination being the Washington Commanders, but as of yet, nothing has materialized on that front.

In any case, it's certainly not a great look for York and the organization.
