Al Hilal are closing in on a deal to sign Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal, with talks between the two clubs now at an advanced stage.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that negotiations are entering their final stages, with a fee of around £50million to £55million being discussed for the Brazilian winger.

Arsenal are understood to be prepared to accept that figure and allow Martinelli to leave the club this summer, with the player’s decision now expected to be the next major step in the process.
Talks over personal terms are continuing, while Martinelli is expected to make a final decision on whether to accept Al Hilal’s proposal.

The Saudi Pro League side had previously identified Martinelli as one of three options on their shortlist, alongside Chelsea’s Pedro Neto and another winger. Romano reported earlier in the week that Martinelli preferred the possibility of remaining in Europe for the next stage of his career, although an approach from Al Hilal would represent a significant financial opportunity if the club made him their priority target.
That situation has now developed considerably, with Al Hilal pushing towards an agreement and Arsenal seemingly willing to sanction the transfer.
Martinelli joined Arsenal from Ituano in 2019 and has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for the club, establishing himself as an important part of Mikel Arteta’s squad during his time in north London.
However, the winger’s position within Arsenal’s attacking options has changed, and the club are now prepared to consider a permanent departure if the right offer arrives.

The potential £50m-£55m package would represent a significant return for Arsenal, who signed Martinelli for a reported fee of around £6million.
The remaining question is whether Martinelli will agree to the move.
His preference for continuing his career in Europe could still prove decisive, but Al Hilal are now getting closer to completing a deal after progressing talks with Arsenal.
With the transfer window approaching its final stages, Martinelli’s decision could therefore have a major impact on Arsenal’s plans for the remainder of the summer.
