Chelsea look ready to let Marc Guiu go this summer, according to the latest transfer news. Sevilla have shown strong interest in the young striker as they build up their attack before the window shuts.
Sevilla’s move for Marc Guiu takes shape
Sevilla are working on a loan move to sign Guiu and boost their options up front. As reported by GOAL, the La Liga club see him as a smart fit after losing key strikers this summer. The 20-year-old has lost his squad number at Stamford Bridge. That decision has pushed his camp into looking elsewhere for regular football.
Head coach Luis Garcia wants a third senior striker to strengthen his squad. Sevilla signed Robbie Ure from Scotland earlier in the window. Even so, the club wants more support up front before the deadline passes. If this move goes through, Marc Guiu would fight for a place with Ure and Isaac Romero. Stylistically, Guiu offers pace and movement in behind rival defenders. That is something neither Ure nor Romero fully provides.

A summer of big departures at Sevilla
Sevilla have lost several forwards this summer, leaving them short of firepower up front. Nigerian striker Akor Adams was sold to Italian club Venezia for a reported €16 million, with add-ons that could push the fee closer to €23 million. He had been the club’s top scorer for the past two seasons. Experienced forwards Alexis Sanchez and Neal Maupay also left the club this window. On paper, the goal output lost from those departures is hard to replace with just one new signing.
The club first tried to sign Nigerian forward George Ilenikhena on loan terms. That plan cooled off fast once his form picked up elsewhere. Ilenikhena scored twice for his club Al Ittihad. That run of form convinced Sevilla to turn back to Guiu instead. Spanish outlet ABC claims Sevilla are now pushing hard to seal a deal. The club see a loan spell as the cheaper route to reinforce their attack. It is also the faster option this late in the window.

Guiu’s rocky spell in England
For Guiu, the picture in England has been far less smooth. He joined Chelsea from Barcelona’s academy just two seasons ago. He has made 29 appearances for the Blues and scored eight goals. Most of those goals came during their Conference League triumph in 2025. That run put his name on the map in England.
He later joined Sunderland on loan for more game time. The Black Cats were playing Premier League football that season after their promotion. That move did not work out well, as he scored just once in three games. Guiu then returned to west London, but chances have been hard to come by since. It is a difficult spot for a player who once carried real promise in England’s top flight. A settled spell in Spain looks like the more sensible step now.
Guiu still has three years left on his current Chelsea deal. Even so, an exit now looks close to certain before the deadline day. A loan return to Spain could give him the game time he badly needs. It may also be the chance he needs to rebuild his career. A strong stint there could help him prove he still belongs at a higher level.
