Back in February 2025, during his last stretch with the Dallas Mavericks, up to his shocking trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic was criticized for his weight and conditioning. He then took it as motivation and was almost unrecognizable when he first appeared in purple and gold.
Fans across social media were hyped over his insane physical transformation. However, after another offseason, the Slovenian superstar seems to have undergone another impressive transformation, or what they call a “glow up.”
A post from content creator Niko went viral, appreciating the Lakers star guard for being the slimmest player on the entire roster.
“Luka looks like he is back to his early Mavs weight, looks good,” he wrote.

The image, as well as the attached video, was from the Lakers minicamp in Slovenia. Doncic had the entire roster, excluding Cameron Carr, fly to his country and host a four-day trip.
While he obviously had a hectic offseason schedule, Doncic took out his men for kayaking, paid a visit to his childhood basketball court, and even took part in a bicycle race on the streets of Ljubljana.
However, talking about his transformation, the six-time NBA All-Star revealed the sacrifices he made to lose around 38 pounds. During his conversation with Men’s Health last year, he talked about cutting out sugar and gluten items and increasing his protein intake.
“Obviously, be the best that I can be, take care of myself,” he said at that time. “This year, with my team, I think we did a huge step. But this is just the start, you know. I need to keep going. Can’t stop.”
Now, with the 2026-27 NBA season around the corner, a vintage Luka Doncic is all the LA fans could wish for.
