These are the Chelsea vs Fulham confirmed lineups for the first Monday Night Football clash of this Premier League season. The London rivals have both undergone change this summer with Marco Silva departing the Cottagers after a number of years. His replacement, Alvaro Arbeloa, was funny enough the man to step into the hot seat and replace new Blues boss Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid in January. Alonso is here to try and return a London giant to glory after a dismal campaign under Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior.

The Blues are without the suspended Wesley Fofana who has been playing as one of the main centre-backs in pre-season. He is definitely a miss for how the coach is aiming to set up but there are capable deputies for the space of one fixture. The other absence is new signing Jordan Henderson who is recovering from a broken arm sustained at the World Cup.

Arbeloa is also missing a key centre-back as Joachim Andersen is suspended, the Fulham man has been a starting presence in their back line through their recent consistency and will be a miss. He is joined on the sideline by Tom Cairney who is out for a number of weeks.
