Enzo Fernandez was left out of the starting side by Xabi Alonso for Chelsea’s first Premier League game against Fulham, with an update about his future coming from South America.
Fernandez was booed by Chelsea fans when he came on during the final pre-season friendly, with supporters clearly not won over by a player who wants to leave the club.
His best chance at an exit right now is with Manchester City, although Enzo Maresca’s side failed to register a bid before Chelsea’s proposed deadline over a week ago.

Despite this, City are still looking for a new midfielder following the exit of Rodri, and South American journalist Gaston Edul has stated they are going to make another bid for Fernandez.
Chelsea originally set their asking price at £120m, however it was believed that was only going to increase if they didn’t submit a bid before the deadline.

The situation seems to have played into Xabi Alonso’s thinking when it came to naming his side for Fulham, with Fernandez only on the bench.
With Moises Caicedo injured, it is a new midfield duo starting at Craven Cottage, being Reece James and Romeo Lavia.
The duo are behind the impressive front three of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro, and will be looking to get the ball to them as much as possible.
