Nottingham Forest are closing in on the deal to sign Chelsea striker Liam Delap, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.
Delap looks set to leave Chelsea in the summer transfer window, and he was recently omitted from their squad to face Fulham on the opening day of the Premier League season.
The former Ipswich Town striker joined Chelsea last summer, but he struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea secured Delap's signature by activating his release clause following Ipswich's relegation to the Championship.

Delap struggled to cement himself as a guaranteed starter in the centre-forward position at Chelsea. Clubs in the Premier League have looked to take advantage in the summer transfer window.
An exit this summer has always felt like it was on the cards due to his lack of game time. The fact he was admitted from the squad against Fulham spoke volumes.
GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that Nottingham Forest are now closing in on the deal to sign Delap from Chelsea.
The Chelsea striker is keen on the move, with Forest set to beat a host of clubs in the race for his signature.
GIVEMESPORT previously reported that Leeds United and Everton were also in the race to sign Delap this summer, with Chelsea sources claiming that he has a £50 million asking price.
Interested parties did believe that a deal in the region of £40 million would be possible to sign Delap this summer, but it remains to be seen what the fee will be from Forest.
