Arsenal are ready to go all in to try to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, with GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs providing all the details.
The Gunners are in the market for attacking reinforcements in the final weeks of the summer transfer window, adding to the signing of Christos Tzolis in the final third.
Arsenal have strengthened in deeper areas of the pitch, with Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa two players to have arrived through the door at the Emirates Stadium.
Signing a new attacker does appear to be Arsenal's next priority in the summer market, whether that be a wide player or a new centre-forward.
The future of Alvarez has been up in the air throughout the transfer window, while Atletico Madrid supporters made their feelings known about him at the weekend.
The Atletico fans booed Alvarez, and the Argentine striker was the only player to leave the pitch as the players showed their appreciation to the supporters.
Reporting in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter, senior correspondent Jacobs has shared an update on Alvarez's future, with Arsenal one of the sides keen. Jacobs claims the Gunners are prepared to make a move, but Alvarez needs to be convinced.
"Onto Arsenal, and even if there's a 1% chance that Julian Alvarez is available, and I've said this many times, Arsenal are prepared to move, and yet Alvarez needs to be convinced on moving to Arsenal as opposed to waiting if he doesn't get Barcelona now and then potentially having that move in one year.
"It's a case of it being a very difficult and tense situation with Atleti. I'm sure they wish the window was already shut. Let's see if the door becomes open to Arsenal because talks are still ongoing and Arsenal held meetings last week as well."

Jacobs does add that Arsenal will make a move to secure his signature if they get the green light from Alvarez himself.
"My feeling here is despite what Atletico Madrid have said publicly, if Julian Alvarez says yes to Arsenal, then Arsenal will move and get the player.
"They do like Kenan Yildiz at Juventus, but Juve sources have told me that they do not wish to sell in the final days of the window, and Iliman Ndiaye could still be one to watch.
"But I sense Arsenal want to go all in on Julian Alvarez."
Everton's Iliman Ndiaye appears to be a potential backup option, but there's no doubt Alvarez, described as 'world-class' by Gary Neville, is looking like the first choice heading into the final weeks of the transfer window.
