The Los Angeles Rams have been dealing with several injury concerns as training camp winds down and the regular season quickly approaches. The two most notable injury absences have been star pass rusher Myles Garrett, whom the team acquired from the Cleveland Browns this offseason, and Pro Bowl wide receiver Puka Nacua.
On Monday, the team got a rough injury update on both players' status.
“Puka Nacua (psoas) and Myles Garrett (knee) aren’t practicing again for the Rams today. Puka is out here doing some of the side workouts Myles has done recently,” reported Nate Atkins of the NFL on X, formerly Twitter.
At this point, it wouldn't appear that either Nacua or Garrett is in danger of missing time in the regular season, but it's still not what fans were hoping to see as training camp continues.
The Rams are entering this year with legit Super Bowl expectations after making several high-profile moves this offseason, including trading for both Garrett and Trent McDuffie of the Kansas City Chiefs. Meanwhile, Nacua remains one of the most talented wide receivers in the game today, and is paired up with Davanta Adams, forming one of the most lethal receiving duos in the league.
Health will be a concern for the Rams this year, as Matthew Stafford isn't getting any younger, and Nacua has dealt with some injury troubles of his own in the past. Rams fans will certainly hope that Nacua and Garrett are able to get right in the next few weeks before the season gets underway.
The Rams' regular season is slated to kick off on September 10 with a game against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia.
