Brazil midfielder Fabinho has signed a two-year deal with Trabzonspor, the Turkish Super Lig side announced on Monday, and will link up with former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.

The 32-year-old midfielder will receive a €2.6m guaranteed fee and €1.4m signing fee per season according to a Turkish stock exchange filing made by the team on Monday.

"An agreement has been reached for a two-year contract with... Fabinho, who is currently in free status," ‌Trabzonspor posted on X.

Fabinho joined Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad in 2023 and won the domestic league after his five-year stint at Liverpool.

"A really special feeling to be playing with Salah again... I had the opportunity to play with him for five years in Liverpool. He ‌is a person whom I respect a lot both for what he has done and what he will do," Fabinho said after arriving at Trabzon airport earlier on Monday.

Looking ‌to reignite his chemistry with 34-year-old Salah, Fabinho said: "I will always try ‌to do the best I can with whatever ability I have.

"Along with the experience and leadership that come from playing for so many years, I will always try to help my teammates."

Fabinho made 219 appearances for Liverpool, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup titles.

Egypt forward Salah joined Trabzonspor as a free agent earlier this month.
