Morgan Rogers scored his first competitive Chelsea goal against Fulham, finishing a brilliant team move to restore the Blues’ lead at Craven Cottage.
The £117million summer signing struck in the 41st minute after Cole Palmer and fellow debutant Maxence Lacroix combined down the right.
Palmer released Lacroix inside the penalty area, and the defender turned away from his marker before delivering a low ball across goal.
Rogers arrived at the back post to sweep home and put Chelsea 2-1 ahead.

Morgan Rogers debut goal rewards Alonso’s attacking plan
Rogers was handed his first competitive Chelsea start after completing his British-record move from Aston Villa this summer.
Xabi Alonso selected the England international alongside Palmer behind Joao Pedro, as detailed in Chelsea’s confirmed starting XI against Fulham.
The front three made an immediate impression.
Joao Pedro opened the scoring inside the first minute after Palmer’s pass released him beyond the Fulham defence.
Josh King equalised in the 23rd minute, but Rogers ensured Chelsea regained their advantage before half-time.
The goal also demonstrated the relationship Alonso had discussed before kick-off.
ReadChelsea reported earlier that the Chelsea manager explained how Palmer and Rogers would operate together, with both attackers given freedom to find space around Joao Pedro.
Lacroix’s involvement provided another encouraging moment for Alonso, with Chelsea’s new centre-back advancing into the Fulham penalty area before supplying the assist.
Rogers had already scored against Real Sociedad during pre-season, but his finish at Craven Cottage was his first competitive goal since joining Chelsea.
