Chelsea monitoring Italy international centre-back eligible to play for Super Eagles
Chelsea are monitoring Italy international central defender Honest Ahanor as the Premier League club continues to assess promising young talents who could represent valuable investments for the future.
The 18-year-old has made two appearances for Italy's senior national team but remains eligible to switch allegiance to Nigeria as both caps came in friendly matches against Luxembourg and Greece.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea and BlueCo are closely following Ahanor as a potential long-term investment.
The versatile defender is one of several young talents being monitored by the group.
However, Atalanta currently consider Ahanor an important member of their squad and have already rejected two offers for him during the summer transfer window.

Born in Aversa, Italy, to Nigerian parents, he developed through the Genoa academy before joining Atalanta.
Despite being born in Italy, Ahanor was initially eligible only to represent Nigeria because he did not hold Italian citizenship.
