The Boston Celtics have had an eventful offseason, headlined by the trade of Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Paul George and draft picks. While the Celtics still project to be among the top teams in the Eastern Conference this year, the vibes are considerably lower in Boston than they were when the regular season concluded a few months ago.
One person not on board with the Celtics' moves this summer is Justin Tatum, father of Celtics franchise cornerstone Jayson Tatum, who recently took to Ultimate Dads Unplugged to relay his thoughts.
“Right now, the roster is s***,” said Tatum, per ItsKingSlime on X, formerly Twitter.
He also predicted that the New York Knicks will become the first team in nine years to repeat as NBA champions.

A big reason why many fans still believe in the Celtics as legit contenders is because of Justin's son Jayson, who rushed back from an Achilles injury this past season but unfortunately had to sit and watch as Boston choked a 3-1 lead in Game 7 against the 76ers in the playoffs before sending their second-best player in Brown to that very team.
Now, Tatum will look to fully recapture his pre-injury form, while also hoping that Derrick White enjoys a resurgent year shooting-wise after struggling to put the ball in the basket throughout last season, particularly in the playoffs.
In the last two postseasons, Boston's three-point heavy offense has failed them in the biggest moment, so the law of averages would suggest that the Celtics could finally get hot at the right time this year, although Tatum might have to put together the best season of his career in order to give this squad a legit chance and prove his father wrong.
