The release of NBA 2K27 is just around the corner, with the world's most popular basketball game set to hit shelves on September 4.
As always, the player ratings spark plenty of debate among players and fans alike, and this year is no different.

Josh Giddey tops NBA 2K27 ratings
While the Chicago Bulls struggled last season at 31-51, good for 12th in the Eastern Conference, Giddey delivered his best statistical season to date, putting up career-highs across the board.
In 54 games, he averaged 17.0 points, 9.1 assists, and 8.3 rebounds on 44.8 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from the 3-point line, while racking up 13 triple-doubles.
As he now enters his third season in Chicago, Giddey's improved play on the hardwood has been rewarded with a jump in his 2K rating, earning an 84 overall, up from 82 in NBA 2K26.
Just below Giddey, Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels takes a slight dip this season, coming in as an 81 overall, down from last season's high of 83.
His Hawks teammate Jock Landale comes in third at 75, while Kiwi big man Steven Adams and recently acquired Los Angeles Laker Matisse Thybulle round out the top 5, tied at 74 overall.

Australia and New Zealand WNBA 2K ratings
NBA 2K continues to put the women's game in the spotlight, with Caitlin Clark earning her first video game cover, gracing the cover of the Deluxe Edition.
The Indiana Fever guard has the second-highest rating in the game at 97 overall, just behind A'ja Wilson at 98 overall.
From the Aussie and Kiwi contingent in the game, Seattle Storm forward Ezi Magbegor takes out top spot with an 85 overall rating, followed by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Alanna Smith at 82 overall.
Storm point guard Jade Melbourne comes in at third with a 79 overall rating, while Mystics' guard Georgia Amoore rounds out the top four with a 74 rating.

2K Sports revealed that there will be a Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Ultra Edition of NBA 2K27.

NBA 2K27: Deluxe Edition
PS5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC: $119.95 AUD
This edition includes 100,000 VC, MyCAREER content, and will be available for Early Access starting on August 29, 2026, up to one week before worldwide release
NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition
PS5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC: $239.95 AUD
The Ultra Edition will release for a limited time, available through September 6, 2026, including everything in the Deluxe Edition, plus an additional 35,000 VC, a Season 1 Pro Pass, the Summer Season Pass Pro Pass Bundle, the Roses Oversize Hoodie in MyCAREER; and Premium SKU MyTEAM Player Cards.
