Reiss Nelson’s long and winding Arsenal career appears to be reaching its final chapter, with reports confirming West Ham have already struck an agreement with the Gunners over a permanent transfer, fee and personal terms both understood to be in place.
West Ham pounce on Reiss Nelson signing
The move, though, is not quite as done and dusted as it may first appear. West Ham are said to be holding off on formally pushing the deal through while they weigh up whether other targets might still become available, with Harvey Elliott and Amario Cozier-Duberry both mentioned as names the Hammers are keeping tabs on before committing fully.
For now though, the Nelson deal remains firmly in place and is expected to go through, even if the East London club are taking their time crossing every thing before making it official.

Reiss Nelson Arsenal exit was long coming
It is a move that will not come as much of a surprise to those who have watched Nelson’s Arsenal career unfold over the years. A boyhood Gunner who came through the academy with real promise, he never quite managed to force his way into a settled role under Arteta, with loan spells and cameo appearances becoming something of a theme rather than the exception.
There is a natural sympathy among supporters for players caught in that position, technically gifted enough to be trusted with minutes here and there, but never quite able to nail down a consistent run in the side. With Arsenal’s forward options as stacked as they currently are, opportunities were only ever going to become scarcer rather than more frequent.
A permanent switch to West Ham gives Nelson exactly what he has been short of for years. He gets regular football there and with there will be plenty inside the Emirates wishing him well even as they watch him depart.
For Arsenal, it is a tidy piece of squad business rather than anything to lose sleep over, freeing up space and easing the wage bill without weakening the first team picture in any meaningful way. Whether West Ham finalise things quickly or keep exploring their other options a little longer, the direction of travel here looks fairly clear
