One lesson that we learned from Chelsea's 3-2 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage

All three players are extremely good in tight spaces, are efficient in the final third and have decision-making at a really high level. Their ability to combine with one another could become one of Chelsea’s biggest strengths throughout the season, especially against teams that sit deep and look to frustrate the Blues.

Xabi Alonso will be hoping that the front three can remain on fire throughout the remainder of the season, especially if Chelsea are to potentially challenge for the league title or comfortably finish in the top three.

The Blues need one of their key players to get back to his best this season, after the forward was underwhelming by his own standards last campaign due to picking up injuries and not playing anywhere near his best. If Palmer can remain fit and maintain this level of performance, then he will be one of the most important players in Chelsea’s attack.

Joao Pedro also showed why he is currently regarded as one of the best strikers in the Premier League. The Brazilian linked up magnificently with Palmer and Rogers, while also showing the composure required in front of goal, as we saw for Chelsea’s opening goal when he chipped Bernd Leno.

His movement can create space for the players around him, which could be extremely important for Chelsea throughout the season. If Pedro continues to perform at this level, just as he did last season, then he will certainly play a major role in Chelsea’s ambitions this campaign.

Morgan Rogers also scored on his Premier League debut for Chelsea, giving the Blues another attacking player capable of making a difference in the final third. The Englishman has the ability to carry the ball forward, take on defenders and create opportunities for his teammates. Rogers could become a really key player for Chelsea due to his technical ability, versatility and ability to operate in different attacking positions.

The biggest positive from Chelsea’s opening match was the understanding between the three attackers. Palmer, Pedro and Rogers all have the quality to create something from nothing, while their movement allows them to interchange positions throughout matches. This could make Xabi Alonso’s side extremely difficult to defend against, particularly when the three players are confident and playing at their best.

The Blues need their front three to remain on fire throughout the season because their attacking quality could be the difference between finishing in the top four, potentially competing for major honours, or having another disappointing campaign. There will be matches where Chelsea struggle defensively or find themselves behind, and having three players capable of changing a game could prove crucial. If Palmer, Pedro and Rogers can stay fit and maintain their current form, then the London outfit will undoubtedly have one of the most dangerous attacks in the Premier League.

Although Robert Sanchez leaves a lot to be desired as Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper due to the mistakes the 28-year-old continues to make, the Blues have shown that their attacking quality can potentially bail them out of trouble. Even if Chelsea look vulnerable defensively at times, their attacking firepower could ensure that they continue to win matches, as was seen against Fulham.
