San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York has pleaded no contest to two criminal charges after being arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution, official court records and reports said Monday.
The shock allegations come just days out from the 49ers’ historic NFL clash against the LA Rams at the MCG on Friday, September 11.

The NFL have confirmed they are reviewing the allegations, which could see York face sanctions under the league’s personal conduct policy.
York was arrested at a mobile home community in Ohio, before being released after posting a US$5000 bond.
Ohio court records showed Monday that York had been fined $1,150 after being hit with misdemeanour charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.
According to prosecutors, the latter charge is as a result of allegations he used his phone to respond to an undercover ad for prostitution online.
Multiple US media reports said York was initially held on a charge of “engaging in prostitution” following his arrest by East Palestine Police on Sunday.
That charge was subsequently amended to misdemeanour disorderly conduct following his no contest plea.

According to reports, $160 taken by police will go to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, while York completed an online course.
But further documents obtained by the California Post have revealed claims he replied to an ad for a prostitution service online and agreed to meet up with a sex worker for $140.
The 46-year old is married with two sons, but filed for divorce in May.
York was also sentenced to one day in jail on each charge, but was released on Monday due to time served after being detained following his arrest.
A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but an acceptance of a conviction and punishment, usually as part of a plea bargain.
York, 46, is the principal owner and chief executive of the San Francisco 49ers and is also a co-owner of English Premier League side Leeds United and Scottish giants Rangers.

The 49ers franchise has been owned by the York family, which is worth nearly $12 billion, since 1977, while he was named CEO in 2008 and became principal owner in 2024.
Since he became the franchise’s chief powerbroker, the 49ers have made and lost three Super Bowls in 2013, 2020 and 2024.
York’s personal worth is estimated at around $500 million.
