The [Boston Red Sox](https://nesn.com/boston-red-sox) still have Chad Tracy on an interim tag as manager after moving on from Alex Cora a few months ago and giving Tracy the job.
The Red Sox are making the right decision by letting this play out, since there's really no reason to rush. The Red Sox have to make the best possible decision for themselves, Tracy, and the organization as a whole.
Tracy has done a very good job and is a candidate to keep, but ultimately, the Red Sox have to feel comfortable with every decision they make.
As for other potential candidates, it doesn't sound like there are many for the Red Sox to really go after. Boston has spoken to other names, according to reports, but a guy like Carlos Mendoza and former Chicago Cubs skipper David Ross aren't viewed as options right now.

There are going to be so many options out there for the Red Sox to pursue this offseason, depending on what they want to even do with Tracy.
There's a chance the Red Sox find themselves in a position to win a World Series in the next few months and just give Tracy the job right after the season ends. There's also a scenario in which the Red Sox want to bring in a few other names just to get a feel for how guys are.
